THE Grandis seven-seater is the first all-new vehicle to reach Australia with Mitsubishi’s bold new exterior design and stands as a vast improvement over the Nimbus and Starwagon it replaces. It is far from being a revelation in the often-overlooked people-mover class, however, Grandis does have significant mechanical and packaging improvements over the faithful Nimbus (the issues with Starwagon are better left unsaid) and most importantly it brings a new level of safety equipment to the class. Six airbags and ABS brakes are the headline items, and these alone make the Grandis worth a closer look.
