MITSUBISHI doesn’t flog dead horses. It resurrects Colts. Would you believe the first one dates back to 1964? There was another near the end of that decade, to deal with a little problem known as the Toyota Corolla. Then came the crisply styled Colt III from January 1981 until 1990. That one, manufactured in Adelaide from mid-1982, was charged with holding back the hot-selling original Laser. It did well for its parent too. Now, today’s fourth Colt incarnation, taking over the tired but true Mirage, has to help resuscitate Mitsubishi, as well as challenge every baby from the Hyundai Getz to the VW Polo.
