New egg-crate grille, chrome headlight surrounds and bumper give the Challenger a fresh front-end look Revised rear bumper, rear combination lamps and tailgate garnish are the changes to the rear New alloy wheels complete the significant changes to the looks Challenger is a five-seater only, with no optional third row seating available Driver's seat includes height but no lumbar adjustment AM/FM radio includes cassette and CD compatibility Both transmission gear levers sit together at the base of the centre console Air-conditioning unit sits high on the centre console, well within reach of the driver Bridgestone Dueller and Yokohama Geolandar 265/70R17 tyres are standard Rear seats fold completely flat to increase interior length to 1805mm Two shallow waterproof compartments sit under the compartment floor Adoption of INVECS II intelligent transmission makes the auto version of Challenger the pick of the bunch Coils replace leaf springs in the rear suspension, resulting in a more compliant ride and more reassuring handling Driver and passenger airbags are standard Anti-lock brakes are optional on the base model and only come as part of a pack also including two-tone paint, cruise control and a limited slip differential Central locking is standard An engine immobiliser is standard, but no alarm The 3.0-litre V6 engine is sourced from the NK model Pajero and is unchanged from original Challenger The engine is LPG compatible and comes with an anti-theft immobiliser The independent front suspension is by unequal length double wishbones and torsion bars The rear suspension is by three links and coil springs, combined with a rigid axle Front brakes are 275mm diameter ventilated discs Rear brakes are solid discs of 315mm diameter ABS is an option on the base model, standard on the LS Steering system is via recirculating ball and nut Power assistance is standard
