Third-generation Series II

BY THE GOAUTO TEAM | 20th Jul 2018

Having been on sale for three years in third-generation form, Mini’s facelifted Hatch range launched in July 2018 with small, but substantial updates.

Mechanical changes remained minimal, with the six-speed torque convertor automatic swapped for a seven-speed dual-clutch unit, as well as improved engine efficiencies, but the biggest additions were found on the inside.

A new 6.5-inch infotainment system is fitted that includes satellite navigation and a 4G sim card as standard for real-time traffic alerts and weather information.

New headlights (for some grades) and Mini badges adorn the outside too.

However, diesel-powered versions were discontinued in the changeover, with the range consisting of the Cooper, Cooper S and flagship John Cooper works (JCW) variants.
