MINI has introduced its first fully integrated John Cooper Works models in Australia. The move follows the full buyout of the tuning operation that had previously supplied a range of kits to Mini. It has launched a JCW version of the regular hard-top and also a JCW version of its stretched model, the Clubman. JCW models represent another step up the performance ladder from Cooper S models. They use a similar 1.6-litre turbo engine, but a range of performance upgrades sees power lifted to 155kW and torque rise to 260Nm.

Revisions have also been made to the suspension and brakes, along with the fitment of special lightweight alloy wheels and all the comfort features found in Chilli models. Of course, they aren't cheap, with the JCW hard-top costing $48,800 and the JCW Clubman coming in at $51,300.
