CHINA’S SAIC Motor is keen to crash the small SUV segment in Australia with the first MG-badged crossover, the GS.

Designed and engineered in the UK, the Shanghai-built five-seater appeals with good looks, a sporty chassis and advanced powertrains, but patchy availability, a firm ride and not enough driver-assist safety might hamper what is probably the best vehicle out of China, for now.
