COMING only 16 months after the current generation came to Australia, the latest Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van range adds even more features, as well as some new models - including the 311 CDI SWB (short-wheelbase) model that is destined for nationwide use by Australia Post, and a 12-seat Transfer minibus. Joining the line-up from September will be three ‘Super Single’ models that can take Australian standard-size pallets, which are wider than European pallets, without sacrificing payload like most vans. Engine choices are unchanged, with three 2.1-litre turbo-diesels (65kW, 80kW and 110kW) and a 3.0-litre TDI V6 with 135kW. Extra standard equipment includes cruise control with speed-limiter, seatbelt reminder warnings and entry assist handles.
