SLK goes Designo

MERCEDES-BENZ has introduced a limited-issue (55 units) ‘designo’ edition of its SLK350, priced from $123,500.

The extra $8026 over the standard $115,474 SLK350 (with automatic transmission) brings a number of customised Designo appointments, including the metallic paint finish, two-tone leather upholstery, anthracite alcantara roof lining, wood/leather shift lever, interior wood trim and leather-clad rollover bars.

Also included are 17-inch five-spoke light alloy wheels, sports suspension, bi-Xenon headlights, a Harmon/Kardon Logic7 stereo, ‘Thermotronic’ dual-zone climate-control air-conditioning and a neck-level heating system.

Mercedes-Benz claims the combined total of additional equipment is worth about $22,000.
