Benz upgrades S-class flagship

BY TERRY MARTIN | 30th May 2005

MERCEDES-BENZ has introduced its 2005 model year S-class limousine, which adds to its list of standard equipment a rear TV/DVD screen, voice-operated commands, remote control for its COMAND onboard computer and Bi-xenon headlights.

Other additions include mobile phone preinstallation, a new shade of grey on the colour palette and, on V6 and naturally aspirated V8 variants, 17-inch alloy wheels.

Benz claims the additions are worth up to $10,000 on some variants, overshading the extra $2000 (V6) and $3000 (remainder of the range, bar S65 AMG) slapped on to retail prices.

S65 AMG pricing is unchanged.
