Mercedes-Benz Heli-Express service

MERCEDES-BENZ is offering its customers the fastest way to travel between Melbourne's CBD and international airport with a new high-speed luxury helicopter link, now in service.

The link enables passengers to fly between Mercedes' Airport Express dealership and Melbourne's South Wharf on the Yarra River in just four minutes.

Powered by twin engines, the high-powered Agusta helicopters operated by Air Melbourne not only fly faster, but also offer a greater level of reliability, which many companies require for the transport of key management personnel.

The multi-million dollar helicopters also offer top-notch comfort, with leather-trimmed seating for up to seven passengers, quiet air-conditioned cabins and a cruising speed in excess of 300km/h.

Mercedes' Airport Express dealership is home to the only helipad at Melbourne Airport with direct clearance, enabling helicopter passengers to land closer to the airport, cutting the travel time to terminals.

A chauffeur-driven Mercedes completes the journey between helipad and Melbourne Airport departures and arrivals.

Making the same journey by road can take in excess of two hours depending on the time of day, and Mercedes is aiming the service at 'time-poor' customers who put a premium on expediency.

One way flights cost $274 per person including valet transfer between the helipad and airport terminals, with services available from sunrise to sunset.
