MERCEDES-BENZ M-People will have to join the GLE Club as the German manufacturer realigns its range names.

The ML-Class has been re-born as the GLE and in the process there’s been a mild facelift and a few additions to the driveline, chiefly the introduction of the nine-speed automatic to the diesel side of the spec sheet.

An AMG version again tops the line-up with a brutal and manic flagship, as well as offering up forced-induction V6 and V8 petrol options, but it's the two turbo-diesels that will – quite rightly – gather the largest fan base.
