AS YOU browse the extensive Mercedes-Benz portfolio, you will see one glaring and unmissable gap amongst an otherwise comprehensive and diverse line-up.

While its two main rivals Audi and BMW have enjoyed a period of relative exclusivity in the small SUV segment, Mercedes has been frustratingly locked out, thanks to the GLK being produced only as a left-hand drive… something that the company’s top brass have admitted was a massive mistake.

But the GLK’s successor, the GLC, is being built in Australia-friendly right-hand-drive and the local arm of MB finally has a model to take into battle with the Q5 and X3.
