NOW about halfway through its model life, the E-Class is also the middle of the M-B passenger car range, between the new super-luxury S-Class and the entry-level smaller C-Class ranges. The introduction of a smaller-capacity supercharged engine lowers the cost of E-Class entry, giving a bigger overlap with the C-Class. The E200K delivers almost exactly the same power as the engine it replaces, which was fitted to the more expensive E240.
