THE big three German luxury brands have been on a mission to fill every conceivable – and inconceivable – niche in recent years.,

, One of their favourite themes is adding coupe styling to non-coupes – something Mercedes-Benz started with the original CLS four-door coupe, which BMW trumped with the polarising X6 coupe/SUV mash-up.,

, Now Benz has done it again with the CLS Shooting Brake, which it calls a five-door coupe but everybody else will rightly call a wagon.,

, We are fans of the four-door CLS and the Shooting Brake gives little away in terms of driving experience while adding an extra dimension for those seeking style and storage space.,
