CLS goes Designo

FOLLOWING in the footsteps of last year’s Designo Edition SLK350 roadster, Mercedes-Benz has released a limited-edition CLS350, priced $15,000 higher than the standard model at $155,400 and claimed to offer more than $28,000 worth of extra equipment.

Many of the CLS350 Designo Edition features are now also available for the M-class SUV, E-class saloon and estate, CLK-class coupe and cabriolet, SLK-class roadster, S-class sedan, SL-class roadster and CL-class coupe.

For the CLS, they include the choice of four exclusive interior/exterior colour combinations: Designo Mocha Black metallic paint with Designo Sand single-tone leather, Designo Dark Umber Maple wood trim and Designo Alcantara roof liner in Anthracite, Designo Graphite metallic paint with Designo Porcelain single-tone leather, Ddesigno Dark Umber Maple wood trim and Designo Alcantara roof liner in Anthracite, Designo Mystic Red metallic paint with Designo Marron single-tone leather, Designo Natural Oak Grain matt wood trim and Designo Alcantara roof liner in Alpaca Grey, Designo Diamond White metallic paint with Designo Cortecchia single-tone leather, and Designo Piano Lacquer wood trim and Designo Alcantara roof liner in Alpaca Grey.

The special AMG factory-fitted CLS350 variant also offers a Designo wood/leather gearshifter and steering wheel, 18-inch five-spoke light alloy wheels, auto-folding exterior mirrors, heated front seats, Keyless-Go automatic un/locking, a glass sunroof, Harman/Kardon Logic7® surround sound system and Dynamic multi-contour front seats with active side bolstering, backrest comfort adjustment and unique massage function.
