MERCEDES-BENZ is having outstanding sales success with its sleek C-Class Coupe in Australia.

Now hot-shop AMG has weighed in with a Sport upgrade pack that makes petrol and diesel versions of the middling C250 variants that bit more special to drive.

Affalterbach has left the engines alone but given it deep-running suspension changes, quicker throttle response, more interactivity from the automatic transmission and a rorty sports exhaust to add emotional appeal.

The car looks the part too, with its black 18-inch alloys and body kit, while the interior has been given a more purposeful feel with Alcantara upholstery inserts, red stitching and in-your-face bright red seatbelts.

But does the drive live up to the promise of the spec-sheet and styling? Click the Our Opinion link to find out.
