DRAWING on styling cues developed by the S-class limousine, the typically restrained Mercedes-Benz design group has created a thoroughly modern and strong, athletic-looking prestige sedan with the new C-class. Something of a tradition since the E-class of 1995, the twin-headlamp face is a defining feature of the front end and this integrated version, accentuated by the heavy bonnet and fender sculpting, is nothing short of outstanding. The pronounced wedge-shaped body gives it a powerful look and the coupe-like roof and steeply raked windscreen a sports sedan edge. Dynamism and elegance were the core design values - and who are we to argue?
