APART from the stylish new body shape, and a new engine range offering around 20 per cent more peak torque, the W203 C-class comes with a host of S-class developments such as optic fibre cabling, darkness-activated headlights, multifunction steering wheel, integrated wing mirror/indicator, chilled centre console and the delightfully useful way the indicators blink precisely three times at a touch of the stalk. Gone is the old model's cam-operated single windscreen wiper arm, but with a 25mm longer wheelbase and wider tracks at both ends, the new car's interior offers the same class-leading legroom but with improved front shoulder/elbow and rear head/elbow room.
