MERCEDES-AMG has announced details and pricing of its G 63 Offroad Pro, a variant the German importer says is designed to take the performance SUV’s off-road credentials to the next level.
Building on the foundations of the G 63, the $383,900 Offroad Pro is enhanced with AMG Active Ride Control suspension with hydraulic roll stabilisation and driving modes Mercedes-AMG says offer maximum stability on sand, rock, and challenging terrain.
Mercedes-AMG says its AMG Active Ride Control suspension is specially tuned for off-road duties with larger diameter pistons and pressure reservoirs, and tweaked damper settings for rough terrain.
Meanwhile, additional off-road drive modes include AMG Traction Pro, which manages braking torque at each wheel, offering seven adjustable stages to improve traction in sand, mud or rocky conditions, and AMG Active Balance Control, which allows roll stiffness to be adjusted through three stages, Low, Mid, and High, tailoring stability for terrain ranging from loose rock to fast sand track.
Addition equipment highlights include 20-inch AMG five-twin-spoke light alloy wheels with all-terrain tyres, Professional mud flaps, rubber floor mats, a spare wheel holder, roof luggage rack with walk-on aluminium plating, and a rear access ladder.
Interior highlights include the AMG Performance steering wheel in Nappa leather, the MBUX multimedia system with augmented reality navigation, Burmester 3D surround sound system, wireless smartphone charging, and temperature-controlled cupholders.
As with the G 63, the Offroad Pro is equipped with a comprehensive suite of “cutting-edge” driver assistance systems, says Mercedes-Benz Australia.
