THE all-independent suspension, using front MacPherson struts and a multi-link arrangement at the rear, is a Mazda design and was tuned by Mazda engineers. The front stabilizer bars have a different diameter to the Ford, and the front and rear shock absorber damping aims at giving the Tribute a "sports sedan" feel. The front roll centre is lower than the rear roll centre to help steering feel and turn-in, while providing more linear response.
