MX-5 suspension is by double wishbones with coil springs, telescopic dampers and torsion bar stabilisers (22mm diameter front, 12mm rear) all-round. The front suspension geometry has been refined, with the lower arm's mounting brackets lowered to provide better control over body movement. Front castor angle and trail has also increased for improved straightline stability. The rubber bushings in the front and rear suspension arm mounts have steel collars between the outer and inner rubber rings, providing high lateral rigidity for precise handling.
