MAZDA has overhauled its best-selling Mazda3 as part of a mid-life refresh that appears, on the surface, to be quite minor.

But the changes under the skin have helped improve the ride quality, handling, and noise, vibration and harshness levels of what was already a seriously impressive car.

Can the updates keep the Mazda3 at the top of the small car tree?
