Price cuts for key Mazda models

MAZDA has announced hefty price cuts across three of its top-selling passenger car models, led by a $1000 slice from the prices of all Mazda3 and Mazda6 models.

Despite being Australia’s top-selling small car so far this year, the Mazda3 is now $1000 cheaper across the range, with the entry-level Neo hatch and sedan’s promotional price of $22,990 drive-away reduced to $21,990 drive-away.

While the base Mazda3 list price remains at $21,330 plus on-road costs, its new sub-$22,000 promotional price sees the Mazda small car undercut its chief rivals, including Toyota’s formerly dominant Corolla, which is priced at $21,740 plus on-road costs (hatch) and $20,990 plus on-road costs (sedan). Mazda3 sales are up 10.9 per cent year-on-year.

Australia’s top-selling imported mid-size model, the Mazda6, is also $1000 more affordable across the range with a new promotional price of $33,990 drive-away for the Classic manual sedan – down from $34,990 drive-away.

As with the Mazda3, the $1000 Mazda6 price cut is effective immediately and applies across the range, including the entry-level Mazda6 Limited manual sedan, which now opens the range at $26,310 plus on-road costs (down from $27,310 plus on-road costs). Mazda6 sales are down 10.5 per cent year-on-year.

Meantime, the 2010 Mazda2 Neo is now priced from $16,490 drive-away, representing a $500 saving over the most recent Mazda2 Neo price ($16,990 drive-away), although the Mazda2 Neo manual’s official list price remains $16,500. Mazda2 sales are up 12.4 per cent year-on-year.

Finally, the 2010 4x2 BT-50 Single Cab Chassis DX is also $1000 cheaper than before at $21,990 drive-away with an alloy tray.

“Mazda is the number one import brand in Australia with record sales this year,” said Mazda Australia managing director Doug Dickson. “These new promotional price points in our 2010 Total Stock Clearance will ensure that we finish the year on a high.”
