Facelift Mazda CX-9 breaks cover

BY BYRON MATHIOUDAKIS | 26th Mar 2009

JUST weeks after Mazda revealed the CX-7 makeover at the Toronto motor show, a revamp of its big brother, the CX-9, is bound for next month’s New York International Auto Show.

Mazda is keeping mum on all the latest CX-9’s changes, but a new front fascia featuring a larger five-point air intake and a horizontal bar is the most obvious exterior change.

Revisions to the headlights, grille and bumper bar are also evident in the sole picture issued by Mazda in North America, while improvements to the seven-seater wagon’s driving dynamics are also promised.

Expect to see new trim and materials inside, as well as the possibility of a second engine choice, when the CX-9 Series II arrives in Australia later this year.
