Second-generation Series III BT-50

BY THE GOAUTO TEAM | 7th Aug 2018

Mazda gave its BT-50 pick-up range an update in April 2018, marking the second refresh for the model that first went on sale in November 2011.

The update was relatively minor, with a new lower grille, permanent driveaway pricing and extra equipment, but mechanical elements were left unchanged.

No changes were made to the two turbo-diesel powertrains underpinning the range, including the 110kW/375Nm 2.2-litre four-cylinder and 147kW/470Nm 3.2-litre five-pot.

Three spec levels, including XT, XTR and GT were included on the BT-50 range, offered with manual and automatic transmissions, 4x2 and 4x4 drivelines, and single-, extra- and dual-cab body styles.
