BRAKING performance in the Protege 1.6 comes via power-assisted solid discs at the front and drums at the rear. Front brake pads are now high-friction co-efficient for improved effectiveness and feel. The rigidity of the front brake calliper has been increased, but anti-lock brakes are not available.
