Market Insight: Small SUV sales lose traction

- One of Australia’s fastest-growing motor vehicle segments – small SUVs – appears to have hit the skids, with discount price pressure from one-sized bigger medium SUVs apparently pulling the handbrake on the babies of the crossover class.

- Last year, sales of small SUVs below $40,000 grew an outstanding 23.8 per cent, making them the stars of the industry, with almost every car company clamouring to get on board the gravy train.
