WITH the introduction of a new 3.0-litre model, this constructor of premium Japanese cars has addressed the main problem with its smallest offering: a lack of power. The GS300 engine in the IS makes a world of difference, not to mention a superb team with its intelligent five-speed automatic transmission. The ride and handling equation remains outstanding. The list of standard features in enormous. But can at last it match the European rear-drivers it was built to emulate?
