THE IS200 was created as the direct Lexus answer to the BMW 3 Series - inline six-cylinder engine mounted longitudinally at the front driving the rear wheels. The IS300 keeps the drivetrain layout but replaces the 2.0-litre with a a more powerful 3.0-litre from the GS300 and also adds a five-speed auto transmission.
