THE coming of the IS300 has brought structural improvements to the front end and curtain airbags, the latter complementing the frontal and side-impact airbags already in place for front occupants. These positions also have anti-whiplash headrests and seatbelt pretensioners with force limiters. All seating positions have a three-point seatbelt and head restraint. On the active safety front, the IS300 also heralds the adoption of Brake Assist, electronic brake-force distribution and further vehicle stability control. Other active aspects, designed to reduce the likelihood of a crash occurring, include excellent dynamic performance, large disc brakes at each corner, ABS brakes, traction control and powerful HID xenon headlamps.
