First-generation D90

The LDV D90 was released to the Australian public by local importer Ateco Automotive, as it attempted to attract new buyers to the Chinese brand by offering a high level of equiptment with a competitive driveaway price.
 
A large ladder-chassis seven-seater, the D90 was launched in three trim levels; Mode, Deluxe and Luxe, and was available in either two- or four-wheel-drive.
 
Under the bonnet was a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine which was paired exclusively with a six-speed automatic transmission.
 
The four-pot donk was capable of delivering 165kW of power and 350Nm of torque, which put it neck-and-neck with its Chinese large SUV stablemate, that Haval H9 (160kW/324Nm.
