BASKING in the success of its Discovery-based Range Rover Sport, Land Rover has spared no expense to build an all-new twin-turbo diesel V8 for exclusive fitment in its Sport and flagship Vogue models. In the bigger, heavier and five-year-old monocoque-chassis Vogue, it replaces the tired entry-level TD6 and, at $141,000, commands a small base price rise that's well worth the quantum leap in performance and refinement, with no fuel consumption penalty. The stonking new diesel V8 is even better value in the smaller, lighter and more nimble Sport, in which it's priced at the same $107,900 as the thirsty but only slightly quicker petrol V8.
