FIVE years ago, Land Rover finally caught on to the fact that its Range Rover was not just the premium model in its line-up but also a brand in its own right. So in 2005 it created the Range Rover Sport, a separate second-tier Range Rover model. The Sport has iconic Range Rover design cues but is based on Discovery 3 architecture and mechanicals, has a leaner look than its Vogue sibling and is much cheaper. Now it has been given a refresh for the 2010 model year, with the centrepiece of the update being a stunning new turbo-diesel V6.
