WHILE previous versions of the portly Range Rover Sport struggled to live up to the third part of its title, the first model from Jaguar Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations has scattered the cats with this belligerent all-terrain weapon.

Technically it still has the bits to go off-road but few will bother, as a quarter-million-dollar price tag deters damaging dirt work and given the performance on the blacktop, there’s really no need to seek extra amusement in the bush, is there?

Stupendously rapid for a vehicle of this ilk, the SVR leaves no doubt as to its intent, with street presence and matching mechanical force.
