WE always felt the previous Range Rover Sport was a bit of an imposter – being neither related at all to the former part of its name nor being an especially dynamic device if you took the latter part to task.

But the all-new second-gen L494 version aims to completely address those issues, being based on the same new lightweight aluminium architecture as the full-sized Range Rover flagship.

It’s now here in Australia, and BMW’s X5 and the Porsche Cayenne had better watch out.
