Geelong dealership tops for Jaguar, Land Rover

HUGE Geelong-based multi-franchise dealership in Victoria, the Rex Gorell Group, has won the 2014 Regional Dealer of the Year award for both Jaguar and Land Rover.

Represented by Jason Gorell at Jaguar Land Rover Australia’s awards presentation ceremony in Melbourne recently, the family dealership group has been a fixture of the Geelong landscape since it opened a Ford dealership in 1980 and now has no fewer than 14 brands in its stable.

Mr Gorell accepted the awards alongside the British prestige luxury brands’ 2014 Metropolitan DOTY winners – Brighton Jaguar dealer principal Tony Nuccitelli, operating south-east of Melbourne, and Bruce Lynton Land Rover dealer principal Beric Lynton, whose dealership group is based in Southport on Queensland’s Gold Coast.

As with other DOTY award programs, JLR Australia assesses its dealers on a range of factors including sales performance, customer satisfaction, facilities presentation and training.

In presenting the awards, recently appointed JLR Australia managing director Matthew Wiesner described the winners as “exemplary Jaguar and Land Rover dealers who have consistently achieved outstanding results in all key areas of the business”.

“We are delighted to have them as our business partners as we continue to grow the Jaguar and Land Rover businesses in Australia,” he said.

Jaguar sales climbed 5.6 per cent last year to 1167 units, while Land Rover sales surged 21 per cent to 10,106 new registrations.
