IT looks like no other Land Rover before it, but the Freelander - in the styling department at least - has few critics. The overall look is chunky with big grey bumpers and wheel arch mouldings dominating the front end. There are several cues from the Landie family, including the Discovery's horizontal-bar grille treatment and the Range Rover's clamshell bonnet with "castellated" corners. Even Defender gets a look in, courtesy of the tail lamp design.
