BY NEIL MCDONALD | 12th Apr 2006

Land Rover Australia has rationalised its Discovery 3 line-up from seven model variants to five, adding as standard luxury leather interiors and automatic climate control across the range.

The base S 4.0-litre V6 petrol model has been dropped and pricing for the S 2.7-litre Tdi model now starts from $66,250, a rise of $1600.

Prices for the petrol-engined models have dropped from $66,950 to $63,990, a saving of $2960, for the V6 SE, which is now the entry petrol model.

The SE now includes leather seats, Land Rover’s Terrain Response off-road system with electronic air suspension, eight airbags, 18-inch wheels and bi-Xenon headlamps.

Petrol V6 S and V8 SE have been removed from the range, leaving the V6 SE and the top of the range V8 HSE at $89,990 (down from $91,650).

Turbo-diesel V6 models are now available from $66,250 (up from $64,650) with the TdV6 S model now featuring leather and automatic climate control as standard, a package claimed to be worth $4100.

All diesel and petrol models continue with the six-speed ZF automatic gearbox as standard.

Revised Disco pricing:
V6 SE $63,990
TDV6 S $66,250
TDV6 SE $74,990
TDV6 HSE $83,990
V8 HSE $89,990
