KIA'S latest Sorento is large, spacious, has a perceived level of quality that would upset some buyers of expensive European SUVs, and does everything with remarkable ease, economy and simplicity.

When it comes to sales, however, the Sorento is a modest success. It ranks outside the top-10 best-selling models in the sub-$70,000 large SUV sector but, in reality, the effect of its latest – and completely new – version have yet to take effect.

So the Kia has the right ingredients and the right price, economical ownership and driving satisfaction. Do we now expect to see a substantial jump in its sales?
