KIA’S previous-generation Koup never really had the sizzle to match its steak.

Or in other words, it’s on-road dynamism never quite lived up to its edgy and sporty styling. But the days of style over substance are no more, according to the Korean brand, because the new Koup comes with an optional turbocharger and a whole load of huff for the price. At $27,990 plus on-roads, the 150kW/265Nm Turbo edges out the (rear-drive) Toyota 86 on cost, as well as its Hyundai Veloster SR sibling, while the base non-turbo 129kW Si is an evern sharper $23,990. But is the attractive price and still-sexy styling enough to chastise the competition?
