Fourth generation Cerato

BY THE GOAUTO TEAM | 7th Jun 2018

In mid 2018, the fourth-generation Cerato sedan arrived, with the hatch version following suit later that year, bringing with it extra safety and features to go with its increased dimensions. S, Sport and Sport+ walk-up designations replaced the old S, Sport, Si and SLi ones.

Like its predecessors, Cerato IV was styled at Kia’s Irvine studio in California, with the sedan’s proportions altering with a more long-bonnet/short boot silhouette than before to give it a sportier look. It was also stronger, quieter and more refined, with improved dynamics.

Under the bonnet was the same 112kW/192Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine as before, driving the front wheels via either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.

The MacPherson-style strut front and torsion beam rear suspension layouts were revamped over the preceding versions.
