JEEP uses what it calls "Sentry Key" as its theft deterrent system. This prevents the vehicle being started with a forged key or by directly connecting the ignition wires. An optional security alarm is also available. The alarm is activated by remote keyless entry. A button on the remote transmitter opens the liftgate window and unlocks the swing gate without unlocking the doors.
