THE Cherokee is something of a pastiche, the traditional seven-slot grille working somewhat incongruously with round headlights, squared off and heavily shouldered wheelarch flares and a tall, boxy, body. Of course, other off-road touches are there too, like prominent roof rails, chunky alloy wheels and black exterior mirrors, while Limited models also feature colour-coded front and rear bumpers, as well as foglights. Not unpleasant but just a bit heavy-handed in its attempt to marry Jeep's traditional design cues with modernity, the Cherokee is certainly one of the more distinctive medium off-road designs.
