THE XKR uses the same supercharged all-aluminium 4.0-litre AJ-V8 engine as the XJR sedan. It generates 276kW at 6150rpm and 525Nm at 3600rpm. These figures are up 28 per cent and 33 per cent respectively compared to the normally-aspirated XK8. The AJ-V8 is a 90-degree design, with quad camshafts and four valves per cylinder.
