VACUUM-ASSISTED ventilated disc brakes all-round are as per XK8 and XJR, but but the XKR uses uprated, higher friction pads of lead-free construction. A four-channel, four-sensor anti-lock (ABS) braking system is standard and features safety split front and rear circuits with fluid level and an anti-lock failure warning. The hand-operated mechanical parking brake acts on the rear wheels. Stability control applies the two rear brakes independently to improve grip in slippery road conditions. Traction control reduces wheelspin by decreasing engine power.
