THE XKR utilises multiplexed electronics, enabling the vehicle's electronic modules to intercommunicate quickly, sending up to 700 messages per second. It also reduces the number and length of wires for improved reliability and packaging. The powertrain and chassis electronics are grouped together in a Controlled Area Network capable of transmitting data at up to one megabyte per second. The engine management system and transmission control module have minor recalibration to suit the XKR. Electronic trickery enables the use of devices such as radar cruise control (pictured), although this feature is yet to be offered in Australia.
