JAGUAR has gone to great lengths not to differentiate the 2.1 from its larger capacity X-Type brethren. There's no sign of any "2.1" badging and the stylish 16-inch alloys, fog lights, chrome window surrounds and rear appliqué can fool many into thinking this is a 2.5 or even 3.0 X-Type. The complicated bonnet pressing creates a highly refined visual statement and the heavily chromed grille treatment, gaping lower airdam, body-coloured mirrors, rub strips and side skirts combine to give the entry X-Type a high-quality stance. Of course, plenty of leather and wood inside back up the impressive exterior package.
