WITH a power output of 298kW from its blown 4.2-litre V8 and a relatively light 1800kg mass to haul, the S-Type R boasts an off-the-clock 165 kiloWatts-per-tonne power-to-weight figure. And it does so while returning an acceptable 12.0 litres per 100km fuel consuption average. The S-Type is available only with ZF's excellent new six-speed automatic transmission.
