ISUZU’S all-new D-Max one-tonne utility was developed in conjunction with the latest Holden Colorado, but differs in some very significant areas that make it a quite distinct proposition.

As well as different and stylish bodywork ahead of the windscreen, the D-Max employs a unique Isuzu 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine (against the Colorado’s smaller but more potent 2.8-litre unit) and new five-speed manual and automatic transmissions.

Our first drive at the national media launch revealed the D-Max to be a consummate performer both on the highway and off the beaten track, making it a serious contender in the tough light commercial ute market.
