INFINITI has landed its third model in Australia, with G37 two-door sportscar twins joining the larger M sedan and FX SUV on sale in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Borrowing its powertrain and underpinnings from the Nissan 370Z two-seater, the rear-wheel-drive, four-seat G37 comes in two 2+2 variants – coupe and folding hardtop convertible – all powered by the well-known VQ-series 3.7-litre V6 mated with a seven-speed automatic transmission.

The G37 Coupe comes in two specifications, GT Premium and sportier S Premium, while the G37 Convertible can only be had in the top-level S Premium guise.

All models are extensively equipped with luxury and convenience features, which Infiniti Cars Australia says will give the G37 an advantage over German rivals and their long lists of added-cost options.

But will this be enough to woo buyers from the established players to this relatively unknown brand in Australia?
